Lee Mi-hyang jumped to a joint ninth place in the third round of the Blue Bay LPGA (total prize money of $2.5 million) on the LPGA Tour.

In the third round of the tournament held at Jen Lake Blue Bay Golf Course (par 72, 6,712 yards) in Hainan Province, China on the 8th, Lee Mi-hyang shot 3-under 69 without a bogey.

Lee Mi-hyang, who had a 5-under 211 total, finished the third round tied for ninth, up six places from 15th the previous day.

It is four strokes behind Takeda Rio (Japan, 9-under 207), who took the lead alone, and is in a position to seek a come-from-behind victory on the last day.

On the day, Lee made birdies at the sixth hole (par 4) in the first half, and reduced one stroke each at the 13th hole (par 4) and the 18th hole (par 5) in the second half. The fairway missed five times and the green seven times, but blocked the putt with 26.

Takeda, who played in the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour and entered the U.S. stage this year after winning the Toto Classic co-hosted by the LPGA Tour in November last year, took the opportunity to win by a two-shot lead over Austin Kim of the U.S.

Lee Min-ji (Australia), Gino Thitikul (Thailand), Ayaka Furue and Mao Saigo (Japan) tied for fifth (6-under 210).
